Graduation

Graduation is an important rite of passage in our society. As with all main events, music plays a special role. Here at Sandalwood High School, the SHS Bands traditionally offer two pieces of music literature a selection for the high school band festival season, "Memories of Friendship" by Satoshi Yagisawa, and of course "Pomp and Circumstance" by Edward Elgar, arranged by Robert E. Foster.

The SHS Bands happily welcome our eight graders (and soon to be SHS band members) to join us for music making. While eight grade participation is not required, it is an excellent way for the SHS Band to welcome the incoming freshmen class. To maximize preparedness, students should practice the music in advance. Traditionally, four rehearsals are held for the students, one in-school and three after school.
